January Skills
Happy New Year, parents!
Have you made any New Year’s Resolutions? Well, if you haven’t, I have a suggestion for you:
Play more with your kids!
Research shows that parents who are physically active are more likely to have children who are also physically active. Children will take cues from their parents when it comes to physical activity and other components that make up a healthy lifestyle. Playing with your children will greatly increase the odds of having physically active children! Develop a healthy habit by including physical activity in your family’s lifestyle. It will definitely pay off in the long run!
For the month of January, children are learning the following skills in our quality P.E. program:
Throwing is a basic movement pattern performed to propel an object away from the body.
Kicking is striking of an object with the feet.
Balancing is stability produced by even distribution of weight.
Rolling is the act of transferring weight to adjacent body parts around a central axis.
